To put your website online, you upload its files to one folder, <code>public_html<\/code>, with the DirectAdmin File Manager. This is the file the server opens first. A home page named <code>home.html<\/code> or <code>Index.HTML<\/code> is not shown.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Free .pro.et hosting runs static files only:<\/strong> HTML, CSS, JavaScript and images. PHP and WordPress do not run on it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Standard hosting also runs PHP.<\/strong> For WordPress you do not upload anything by hand: see <a href=\"https:\/\/yegara.com\/en\/guide\/how-to-install-wordpress-in-cpanel-and-direct-admin\/\">How to Install WordPress in One Click<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>React, Vite or a similar project:<\/strong> build it on your own computer first and upload the <strong>contents<\/strong> of the <code>dist<\/code> or <code>build<\/code> folder. See <a href=\"https:\/\/yegara.com\/en\/guide\/deploy-nodejs-laravel-or-react-app\/\">Deploy a Node.js, Laravel or React App<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"upload-your-files\">Upload your files<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Step 1.<\/strong> Log in to DirectAdmin. You can open it from your Yegara dashboard or with the link in your welcome email. See <a href=\"https:\/\/yegara.com\/en\/guide\/how-to-log-in-to-cpanel-or-directadmin-and-reset-its-password\/\">How to Log In to cPanel or DirectAdmin<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Step 2.<\/strong> Open <strong>System Info &amp; Files<\/strong>, then <strong>File Manager<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Step 3.<\/strong> Open the <code>domains<\/code> folder, then the folder with your domain name, then <code>public_html<\/code>. Everything inside <code>public_html<\/code> is your website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Step 4.<\/strong> A new account has a default <code>index.html<\/code> in this folder. Delete it, or let your own <code>index.html<\/code> replace it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Step 5.<\/strong> Click <strong>Upload<\/strong> and choose your files. You can also drag them into the File Manager window.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Step 6.<\/strong> Check that <code>index.html<\/code> sits directly inside <code>public_html<\/code>, not inside another folder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-accent-4-background-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\">\ud83d\udcd8 <strong>The most common mistake<\/strong><br><br>Uploading the whole project folder, so the home page ends up at <code>public_html\/mysite\/index.html<\/code>. Your site then opens only at <code>yourdomain\/mysite<\/code>. Upload what is <strong>inside<\/strong> your project folder, so the path is <code>public_html\/index.html<\/code>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"upload-many-files-at-once\">Upload many files at once<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>On your computer, select everything inside your website folder and compress it into one <code>.zip<\/code> file.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Upload the zip file to <code>public_html<\/code>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Right-click the zip file in the File Manager and choose <strong>Extract<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check that <code>index.html<\/code> is directly inside <code>public_html<\/code>, then delete the zip file.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"check-your-site\">Check your site<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Open your domain in a private (incognito) window, so the browser does not show a saved copy of the old page.
