A <strong>subdomain<\/strong> is an extra address on your domain, such as <code>blog.yourdomain.com<\/code>. An <strong>addon domain<\/strong> is a second domain with its own website. For a subdomain, type the full address, for example <code>blog.yourdomain.com<\/code>. For an addon domain, type the new domain, for example <code>secondsite.com<\/code>. Untick it so the new name gets its own folder and its own website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What to do next<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Upload the site&#8217;s files to the folder shown in the <strong>Document Root<\/strong> column on the Domains page.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An addon domain must point to your hosting before it opens.
