A TXT record is a short piece of text stored in your domain’s DNS. Services such as Google Search Console, email providers and payment tools ask you to add one to prove that the domain is yours, and SPF and DKIM email records are TXT records too. You add them in the Zone Editor in cPanel.

📘 Check where your DNS is managed

The Zone Editor works when your domain uses the nameservers of your hosting. If the domain uses Cloudflare or another DNS provider, add the TXT record there instead. See How to Manage DNS Records.

Add the record

Step 1. In cPanel, go to the Domains section and open Zone Editor.

Your TXT records can be easily managed with the help of the Zone Editor section, which can be found at your control

Step 2. Click Manage next to your domain.

In order to create a TXT record, you just need to click on the button Manage

Step 3. Click Add Record and change the record type to TXT.

Click on Add record option and change record type to TXT

Step 4. Fill in the fields and click Save Record.

  • Name: the name the service gave you. If it says @ or gives no name, type your domain name.
  • TTL: leave the value that is already there.
  • Record: paste the text exactly as you received it.
Add the values and click save

How long it takes

A new DNS record is usually visible within minutes, but it can take up to 24 hours to reach every network. If the service cannot verify your domain straight away, wait a little and try again. You can check the record at dnschecker.org by choosing the TXT type.
