How to Renew Your Hosting or Domain

Here is how renewals work at Yegara HOST: when you are notified, where the invoice is, what it covers and how to pay it.

Is renewal automatic?

No. Nothing is charged automatically. Before each service expires we create a renewal invoice, and the service is renewed once you pay it.

When you are notified

Renewal notices are sent by SMS (from 0960 17 17 17) and by email, starting 30 days before the expiry date. They go to the phone number and email address registered on your account. Each notice shows the domain, the expiry date, the price and a link to the invoice.

Find your renewal invoice

  • Open the link in the renewal SMS or email.
  • Or log in to your Yegara dashboard and open Billing, then My Invoices. Unpaid invoices are listed under the Open tab.
  • Or, if you know the invoice number, open my.yegara.com/invoice.php and enter it.
  • If you have neither, send us your domain name in chat and we will find it.
The My Invoices page in the Yegara dashboard listing open invoices marked Not Paid

What the invoice covers

Open the invoice and read its lines. A renewal invoice can be for the domain only, for the hosting only, or for both together when they fall due on the same date. Each line shows what it is for and its price.

  • Domains and hosting are renewed one year at a time.
  • A renewal price can differ from last year’s because it follows the exchange rate.

Pay and confirm

Pay by CBE or Telebirr and submit your transaction number on the invoice page, exactly as for a new order. See How to Confirm Your Payment. Renewal payments are approved by our team, normally within 24 hours.

If you renew late

  • Hosting is suspended 3 days after it expires. After your renewal is approved it comes back automatically, usually within an hour.
  • A domain stops working when it expires. After it is renewed it can take some time before it opens everywhere again.
  • If your domain has already expired, renew it as soon as you can. After about 30 days it can no longer be renewed. See What Happens When a Domain Expires and Site Suspended for an Unpaid Invoice?

Watch out for fake renewal emails

A genuine notice names your domain and your invoice, and its link goes to yegara.com. If you receive a “FINAL NOTICE” or “RENEWAL NOTICE” email that does not, do not click its links. Forward it to us if you are unsure.
